An Imaginary Space about Becoming Real
Some exciting news … we’re building an art space: Mr. Bennett’s Wood Shop is becoming the Half Century Mark Hotel Annex. And it’s not make-believe. It’s real. Really! Well, it’s not really a hotel, just my art studio down by the river. Really. Come have a look.

They seem happy.
As you may know, the Hotel is located in a moderately warm imaginative zone. We favor seed pods and roses over snowshoes and Uggs. Before a glorious thanksgiving weekend gave way to the season’s first winter dusting, I asked my garden friends to pose once more before I tucked them in for the season. Like my children, some were more reluctant to share themselves than others. But all responded with grace, in their own style and hue.

My daughter studying was the moment. I didn’t expect the reading material. Wish it had been on my table during college. It took me 51 years to open that book. Thank goodness the hotel serves excellent coffee.
It was a beautiful, crystal clear weekend. The perfect time to say goodbye to our summertime way of life; soon the lake will be silent and white. In the meantime, here are some final colorful images of cedar cove in November. Hope winter brings all that your heart desires. The Hotel will be open throughout the holidays.
